What is Radicle Roots?
Radicle Roots is more than just an art program—it’s a creative community where children of all ages and abilities can come together to explore, learn, and grow. Founded by Miss Tracy and Miss Renee, two passionate educators with a love for teaching and artistic expression, Radicle Roots was designed to foster a welcoming environment where ideas flourish, friendships develop, and confidence grows through art.
Located within Roots to Wings Studio at Bricker Village in Lititz, PA, Radicle Roots offers hands-on learning experiences that integrate art, science, and literature while providing a supportive space for self-expression. Whether your child is homeschooled and looking for an enriching group learning experience, or simply eager to explore their creativity outside of a traditional classroom, Radicle Roots offers a dynamic and engaging environment.
Meet the Founders
Miss Tracy
A former Special Education teacher from the Cocalico School District, Miss Tracy is also the owner of Roots to Wings Studio & Designs and Fe Amor Home Decor and Boutique. Her mission is to help every individual recognize their abilities and reach their full potential.
Miss Renee
A former art teacher and homeschooling mom, Miss Renee has a deep passion for education and creativity. She brings years of experience working with children of all ages and loves incorporating different artistic techniques into fun and meaningful projects.
Together, they built Radicle Roots as a space where students can explore, experiment, and express themselves freely while developing artistic skills and critical thinking. For homeschooling families in the Lancaster Count area, the program provides an excellent opportunity for socialization and interdisciplinary learning in a structured yet flexible setting.

A Look Inside a Radicle Roots Lesson
Each Radicle Roots class focuses on an engaging theme designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. Here’s an example of a past lesson:

In this session, students:
- Made scientific observations about sunflowers using their senses.
- Learned about sunflower life cycles, heliotropism, and Fibonacci sequences.
- Created sunflower-inspired artwork using printmaking techniques and pastels.
- Listened to “Sunflower House” by Eve Bunting to connect art with storytelling.
- Sampled sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, and balm to engage multiple senses.
Lesson Extensions
For students who want to dive deeper, additional activities included:
- Studying artists like Georgia O’Keeffe and Vincent van Gogh, who famously painted sunflowers.
- Conducting sunflower sprout experiments to observe plant growth.
- Exploring the mathematical patterns of the Fibonacci sequence in nature.
By combining art, nature, science, and storytelling, Radicle Roots makes learning both fun and meaningful.
Join the Radicle Roots Community
Radicle Roots offers a semester-based schedule with classes held twice a month. Students can pay per class or enroll for the full semester at a discount. This flexible structure makes it a great supplement to homeschooling curricula while also being open to any student who wants to participate.
Once a year, at the end of the spring semester, an art show is hosted where students can showcase their work to family and friends.
